Degenerative disc disease refers to spine pain caused by spinal disc wear-and-tear.

Spinal disc serve to absorb impact between vertebrae. However, as they grow older, they are prone to wear and tear causing break down. Patients with degenerated discs often experience numbness, tingling, or a burning sensation in their neck, back, arms, or legs. It is often treated through physical therapy, medications, steroid injections, and in severe cases, surgery.
