Intraparenchymal hemorrhage

Intraparenchymal hemorrhage is bleeding into the brain.
The major arteries supplying blood to the brain, form a structure known as “The Circle of Willis”. When one of these arteries rupture, patients can develop an intraparenchymal hemorrhage. These arteries rupture most commonly due to uncontrolled hypertension and head injury, and are one of the more severe forms of brain hemorrhage. This condition is typically treated by performing a cranial surgery to remove the extravasated blood.
